About The Feature:
Devonne is a poet, singer, writer, and actress currently based in Newark, NJ. Devonne has been performing for 12 years and her most recent projects include writing for the Us by Us Collective (a pro-queer/womanist arts-supportive magazine created for Haitian creatives by Haitian creatives), performing at the Newark Arts Festival, Meshfest WAM (Wellness Arts and Music) festival, opening for Wyclef Jean at the Seahawk Festival, landing a role in the movie Moonlight, and being two-time 1st place collegiate poetry slam champion.

Devonne is pursuing a career in the arts with the sole focus of perfecting the ability to provide healing through her talents. She wants to be a voice for others, but also a voice for herself; to be walking proof that conquering your demons, elevating your strengths, and believing wholeheartedly in your future despite your past, is a success story attainable by all.

Devonne wishes to use her voice as a tool to lend to whomever or whatever issue it is needed. Her vision is to become a prominent public figure and utilize those connections to own and operate her own nonprofit performing arts academy, as well as showcase art to the world as purely and as clearly as possible, as art was always meant to be. Devonne aspires to be one of the well-known figures to bring a proper voice and role model for the Haitian people.
